The addon author has taken it off Blendermarket. Here are his video tutorials. Basically it speed up the process of selecting and painting vertex then baking ID map for Substance Painter.
I watched the video you provided and I don’t see any problem doing this with Zen Sets. I haven’t had to do it myself, but this topic has been discussed by users at this link. Discord
Export feature is great! What makes ID mapper unique is ability to auto select and paint vertex of similar polygon or group of polygons within a single mesh. It’s like Zen Sets Smart Select but more advanced.
I understand that you would like all the features of this addon to be transferred to Zen Sets in the usual way for you. But the purpose of these addons is different, and we can only add some operators if it is appropriate and does not contradict the goals of the addon. But for this you must describe exactly how this or that operator should work because we do not have enough experience in creating color masks and reproducing the functionality from the demo video is too long a process.
- There is a very powerful Auto Groups feature that could be based on any mesh select operator
- Also there is a geometry nodes support that gives you an option to live convert Zen Sets groups to vertex colors
No problem, I was just curious if ID Mapper auto select feature already exist in Zen Sets.
@Alexander_Zhornyak Thanks for the info. Auto Group custom presets, similar by normal might works the same way ID Mapper auto selects. I’ll play with it in the next project.

I would like to note that there is an option to show total face area of the group, it can help to detect identical parts. I will made a feature to join groups with the same area in the next addon update
